Autumn 1 Update

Caterpillars and Starlings class have had a wonderful first half term in Reception! We have been settling into our routines beautifully and increasing in independence. In Phonics, we have learnt the first phonemes of Phase 2 along with 3 new tricky words - I, is and the!

In Maths, we've been using our eyes to 'subitise' small collections of objects up to 5, as well as exploring measurement and patterns.

We have been loving focusing on a book of the week and our theme of 'Super me and super you!' where we've talked all about our emotions, what makes us special , our families and our friends.

We recently went on an Autumnal walk where we spotted signs of seasonal change on the playground field and collected lots of colourful leaves, twigs and best of all - conkers!
