Hello and a warm welcome to Cormorants Class! I’m Mrs Carlton, and I am absolutely delighted to be your Year 6 teacher this year. I can’t wait to get to know each and every one of you as we embark on an exciting journey of learning together. This year promises to be filled with incredible opportunities, from engaging lessons to our much-anticipated residential trip! We will explore a variety of topics that will inspire curiosity and creativity. Get ready for a fantastic year ahead, packed with fun and discovery. Let’s make it one to remember!

Hello and welcome to Cuckoos! I’m Mrs Carley (formerly Miss Lightfoot) and I’m so excited to be starting an amazing year with this fantastic new class. I can’t wait to get to know all of the children and see what fun, learning, and adventures lie ahead. We’ve got lots to look forward to, including exciting topics, hands-on learning, and of course our brilliant residential trip later in the year! We’re going to have a fantastic time together—let’s make it a year to remember!

  

  

September 2025 - update

     

Year 6 have really been enjoying the electricity topic in science this half term. The children have been making and drawing circuits using different electrical components. Our favourite lesson so far was the one where we pretended to be electrians on our first job and diagnose the problem within a circuit before offering a solution. We can definitely see this being a career for some of our children!       

  

            

Year 6 have had a fantastic morning at St Mary's church in Whitkirk to celebrate their heritage week. We learnt about the history of the church and did lots of activities about it. We hope to go back there in the near future.
