Alex Osborne

I am Mrs Osborne and I have taught at Templenewsam Halton Primary school for 20 years. I would like to welcome both children and parents to The Owls Class of  2025-2026. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all. We have a very busy and exciting year planned.
At the beginning of the year we will be using play based provision in a similar way to Reception and as the children are ready we will move towards a more formal setting in the classroom.
We start with the topic ‘Weather’ which is continuous through Year 1 as we observe the changes around school over the seasons. We will also be learning about ourselves and our five senses in science.
In Maths we will be reinforcing numbers to 10 and methods for addition and subtraction. In English we will be concentrating on basic sentences, using capital letters, finger spaces and a full stop.
Over the year we will have some visits and visitors to help support our learning. We already have a visit to the pantomime planned for December and a trip to the zoo at the end of the year.
I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 2nd September.

Hello! I am Miss Sharp and I am the teacher of the Starfish class!
I hope you are ready for a year full of fun, learning and celebrating who we are! I love to teach Year One, mainly to see all of the lightbulb moments and amazing things you learn. My favourite things in Year One include our trip to the pantomime and our science topic about animals, we even get to see some animals!
I am so excited for the next year with the new Starfish!
