Our Religious Education curriculum introduces pupils to a wide range of beliefs, practices and celebrations from EYFS to Year 6.Throughout the curriculum, children build understanding of different religions, reflect on similarities and differences, and consider what people believe and how this shapes how they live.
In EYFS, children explore what is special to them and others, learn about celebrations such as Diwali, Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter and Eid, and begin to notice similarities and differences in religious and cultural customs.
In Key Stage 1, pupils hear stories from the Bible and the Qur’an, learn about belonging to a church or mosque, and explore why people pray and how faith can guide caring for others and making good choices. They also learn about welcoming new life and how religious communities mark important events.
