Decades Week
Posted 25th April 2024
Towards the end of the spring term each class in school took part in a curriculum focus week. During this week each class chose a decade from any point in history. We had a wide variety of eras from the 17th Century (1666 to be precise), through the 1920's and up to the glory of the 1980's and most recent events in the 2020's!
Children took parts in lots of varied activities in a range of subjects with children learning lots of facts whilst also gaining new skills. Walking around school was wonderful with a host of exciting lessons at every turn. Some children were practising the Charleston dance in the hall, monarchs were being crowned in the early years, some were making plague masks whilst others got to interview Neil Armstrong about his historic moon landing! It was a great week with children enjoying the opportunity to extend their knowledge beyond the usual curriculum themes.
