Our Aims and Values

For the seven years that your child is in our school you can trust us to work with you to develop individuals who are respectful of others and of themselves, sensitive to the needs of others and who are self-disciplined.

We aim for our children to be confident in their own abilities with high self-esteem and to be creative thinkers who can be open-minded and flexible. We want our children to be able to make informed choices about what is right and wrong and know how to tackle difficult issues and we achieve this through developing emotional intelligence in our children.

In partnership with you we are building the human beings who will be the building blocks of our future world and it is only with a strong understanding of who they are that our children will be able to take the values that we want them to have and create happy and fulfilling lives for themselves. Being an inclusive school is central to our belief in developing children’s abilities  to empathise, co-operate, tolerate, care, appreciate others and be open minded and flexible. Our differences are to be celebrated and appreciated.

Being able to make informed choices about what is right and wrong and knowing how to tackle difficult issues are skills and attitudes learned and tested in early life where it is safe to make mistakes. Our school will teach social skills and attitudes to our children by respecting them as individuals and working with their families to develop their self-control through ownership of their own behaviours.

We feel that effective relationships are essential and we make time to listen. Compromise and flexibility, whilst holding the best interests of our children at heart, are the foundation of our relationships and all relationships are based on respect.
