Data Protection
At Templenewsam Halton Primary School, we take our responsibility to protect personal data seriously. We are committed to safeguarding the information of our pupils, families, staff and wider school community, and to handling all personal data lawfully, securely and transparently.
We comply fully with data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. As part of this commitment, Red Kite Learning Trust has established Trust-wide privacy notices, which explain how personal data is collected, used and stored. To ensure data protection matters are managed effectively, we have appointed a Designated Data Protection Lead for our school.

Business & Operations Manager
The Data Protection Lead supports and oversees all formal Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests. They liaise with relevant staff and external agencies to ensure requests are handled appropriately, securely and within statutory timescales.

Ensuring Data Security
We have robust security measures in place to protect personal data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Staff receive regular training on data protection and information security, and our policies and procedures are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain effective and up to date.

Data protection is an ongoing priority. We continually review our practices to ensure they meet current legal requirements and best practice standards. We also welcome feedback and suggestions on how we can further strengthen our approach.
