Applying to Reception

Each year, the application process opens in November, in the year before your child is due to start Reception, and closes in early January. Applications are managed directly by the Leeds Admissions Team, so we’re not able to check the progress of applications or advise on the likelihood of a place being offered.

Leeds City Council will write to you to confirm which school is closest to your home address and to invite you to apply.

To help guide you through the process, Leeds City Council provides a short ‘how to apply’ video and a set of frequently asked questions. These explain how to apply and what to expect next, and are really helpful if this is your first time applying for a school place.

October–November 2026	Open Day
Mid-November 2026	Reception applications open
15 January 2027	Deadline to apply via Leeds City Council
16 April 2027	National Offer Day – families receive their school offer from Leeds City Council

Once your child has got a place at our school, and you have confirmed, you will receive a welcome pack with all the information you require, including key dates for your diary.
