Celebrating Sporting Success: School Games Mark Award 2024/25

We are delighted to announce that Templenewsam Halton Primary School has been awarded the School Games Gold Mark for the 2024/25 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme, launched in 2012 and facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust. It recognises schools for their commitment to the development of sport and competition, both within school and across the wider community. We are incredibly proud to have been recognised for our efforts and achievements in this area.
Over the past year, our pupils have shown outstanding enthusiasm and dedication to school sport. From participating in local inter-school competitions to supporting events as young volunteers, leaders and officials, their contribution has been truly inspiring. The number of pupils involved in competitive sport has grown significantly, and their teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship have been a credit to our school.
As part of our application, we were assessed across four key areas: participation, competition, workforce and clubs. Thanks to the hard work of our staff, pupils and wider school community, we successfully met the criteria and earned this prestigious recognition.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported our sporting journey this year, from parents and carers to teachers, support staff and coaches. Whether you’ve coached, organised, cheered from the sidelines or helped behind the scenes, your efforts have made a real difference.
We look forward to building on this success and applying again in 2026!
