As part of our whole school music curriculum, we have been learning songs from the 1980s!
Children have listened to a wide range of music from across the decade and have been preparing songs to perform to each other on Thursday 22nd October. These include songs by Elton John and Cyndi Lauper. To help bring the spirit of the eighties to life, we are inviting children to come to school dressed in 1980s-themed clothing on the day of the performance. This could include bright colours, neon clothing, leg warmers, colourful accessories, denim jackets, bold patterns or anything that captures the fun and energy of the era.
Please note that there is absolutely no expectation for families to buy anything new. Children are encouraged to use items they already have at home, mix and match outfits or add simple accessories to create an eighties-inspired look. Creativity is very much welcomed.
We are looking forward to a joyful celebration of music, confidence and creativity and we can’t wait to see the children share what they have learned.
